Tax residency, documented

Know exactly where you stand — before a jurisdiction asks.

Domi quietly tracks the days you spend in every jurisdiction, turns it into a day-by-day audit trail, and warns you long before you're close to crossing a residency line.

Free to start. Not tax advice — Domi documents the time factor, a tax professional interprets it.

Flexible enough for how the rules actually work

Every jurisdiction counts differently. Domi was built to match the rule, not the other way around.

Any part of a day, or just nights

Count every jurisdiction you touch, however briefly, or only where you slept — the two legal standards jurisdictions actually use. Switch with one tap; totals recompute instantly.

County, state, country, or region

Resolution starts at the county — the grain that actually matters for piggyback local taxes — and rolls up to states, countries, or a custom region like the Schengen Area, included as a one-tap preset.

Unlimited thresholds

Watch every jurisdiction that matters to you, not just one hardcoded bar. Add as many day-limits as your situation actually has.

Calendar year or rolling window

Most jurisdictions count a flat calendar year. Some rules don't — Schengen's is 90 days in any rolling 180. Set either mode per threshold, and it's tracked correctly either way.

Travel-days-home overlay

A trip that departs from one home state and returns to that same state, without ever entering another, can be reassigned back to home — automatically, as a separate output.

GPS and manual, always layered

Automatic capture and hand-entered corrections are kept as two distinct, labeled layers — nothing is silently overwritten, and an unrecorded day stays visible as Unknown until you fill it.

Plan & Gaps

Just tell it, in your own words.

Type how you expect to spend the rest of the year — or tap your keyboard's microphone and dictate it — and Domi parses plain language straight into dated spans you review before anything saves. The same AI-assisted parsing fills in a missing day from a sentence, too: no rigid form, no picking from a dropdown one trip at a time.

  • Type it or dictate it — your keyboard's own voice input works
  • Always reviewed and editable before anything is saved
  • The same parser fills in a missing day from a one-line reason

Privacy-forward by construction

Your exact location has nowhere to leak from.

This isn't a policy promise layered on top — it's how the data model itself is built. Domi exists to produce a record that holds up, not to collect more than it needs.

Resolved on your phone, not our server

GPS is turned into a county (or, abroad, a country) entirely on-device, by the phone itself — the same way the county-boundary math that does it runs locally. The raw coordinate is never transmitted, never logged, and never reaches Domi's servers at all.

No street address, ever

Home locations are entered as just a ZIP code or a city — never an address. Once it's geocoded and confirmed back to you as a state and county, the precise input is discarded. There's no street address in the system to leak in the first place.

Tamper-evident, always

Every entry is folded into a SHA-256 hash chain the moment it's recorded. The record is append-only — corrections are added, never edited in place — so any later tampering is detectable.

Unknown is a real answer

A day with no data isn't silently skipped — it's reported as Unknown and counted against you until you fill it in, matching how a real residency test actually treats missing days.

Reports

Watch every limit that matters — not just one.

Switch between counting any part of a day or just the night you slept, track as many thresholds as you need — states, countries, or custom regions — and choose whether each one runs on the calendar year or a true rolling window, like Schengen's real 90-in-180 rule.

  • Any part of a day, or just where you slept — one toggle, instant recount
  • Unlimited thresholds, mixing states, countries, and regions side by side
  • Email yourself a PDF summary, ready for your accountant

Timeline

A day-by-day record you can actually defend.

GPS readings are coarsened to the county, stitched into spans, and stamped with where they came from. Corrections are layered on top with a reason — never silently edited in place — so the record stays honest even on the days it isn't perfect.

  • Captured and corrected days shown as two distinct, labeled layers
  • County-level precision — your exact location is never retained
  • International travel labeled by country, automatically

Plan

See the rest of the year before you book the flight.

Describe where you intend to be in plain English, and Domi turns it into day-by-day spans against your real totals to date — so you find out today whether a trip would push you over a limit, not next April.

  • Free-text entry, parsed straight into dated spans
  • Projected totals, not just days logged so far
  • Explicitly unplanned days shown as a gap, not hidden

Gaps

Nothing falls through the cracks.

For a residency test, the burden of proving where you weren't is on you — so an unrecorded day is flagged, not quietly dropped. Fill it once, with a reason and an attachment if you have one, and it's covered for good.

  • Every uncovered day listed, in order, nothing buried
  • Attach a boarding pass or hotel folio to back up a correction
  • A phone that's off or at home is still an explainable gap, not a mystery

Settings

Set it up once, in minutes.

Enter your homes by ZIP or city and Domi resolves the county for you. Then add any threshold you actually need to watch — a state, a country, or a custom region — each with its own day limit and counting window. No street address, ever.

  • Geocode-assisted home lookup — just a ZIP or city
  • Add unlimited thresholds — state, country, or region, each own window
  • Shared by the web reviewer and the iPhone capture app
